I was born in February 1975, in Hucknall Nottingham. I've had a talent for art for as long as I can remember and always had a vivid imagination. I've been a fan of tattoos for a long time now but never imagined I'd end up doing them for a living. I left school in 1991 and had a string of jobs including one as a screen printer where I met and became good friends with Scott Simms. Me and Scott would often talk about tattoos and wondered if we'd be any good as tattooists.

Eventually Scott decided to give it a go and around the same time I decided to join the army. I joined the Queens Royal Lancers and served in Germany and Oman, spent several weeks skiing in Switzerland, Bavaria and Austria and served with the United Nations in Cyprus where I began designing tattoos for a lot of my army mates and also for Scott who's tattooing was going so well he was about to open up his own studio: 'Vision Ink' and asked me to go and work for him. Despite never having done a tattoo in my life I took Scott up on his offer and left the forces in 2002 after 4 years service and began the life of a tattoo artist.

Thanks to close friends and family I had some skin to practise on and started to learn my craft. I now work at splellbound in ilkeston with colin kelley 5 days a week.
